About the Author
Nichelle is an Instructor for the Developmental Studies and Foreign Language Department at Houston Community College-Northwest.  She teaches Developmental English, Reading, and Study Skills courses. She comes in contact on a daily basis with students beginning to change and improve their lives through education. She enjoys helping students take their first steps to a new and more successful life.
Nichelle received her B.A. in Journalism and her M.A. in English from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. She is a veteran instructor with fifteen years of experience. During those fifteen years, she has taught as an English and Developmental English Instructor for Texas Southern University, Prairie ViewA&M University, and North Harris Montgomery Community College. Though she is fairly new to the Houston Community College System on a full-time basis, she has taught part-time for the college for about six years.
Nichelle is very active in her community, serving as Treasurer for the McDougal Elementary School's Parent Teacher Organization, Board Director for the Ash Creek Home Owner's Association, and Co-Leader for her daughter's Girl Scout Troop, 3249.  One of her hobbies is stock investment. She and her husband and other college friends founded Progressive Investments of Houston, a small stock investment club in 1993.
